I had a job to restore these reproduction terracotta warriors. They were
a mess... crumbling and flaky.
I
had to secure the damaged and powdery substrate... so I used very tough
mix I made from cement and lime, with some acrylic binder. I then used
more lime materials and rubbed in powdered oxides whilst it was wet and
burnished and polished to a beautiful finish. When they get wet they darken
then they lighten as they dry out again.
It was in bright sunlight. They were a mess, although they look interesting
here.
